06:00 pm – 06:30 pm (CST) / 7:00 pm- 7:30 pm (EST)
A critical advancement in hydrogen infrastructure—the Advanced Clean Energy Storage Hub in Delta, Utah—is progressing toward reality. This first utility industrial-scale renewable energy hub in the United States will nearly double global green hydrogen production capacity, for power generation, transportation, steel manufacturing and other industrial uses. The ACES Delta Hub, a collaboration between Mitsubishi Power and Magnum Development, is supported by $500+ million from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Offices’ Title XVII Innovative Energy Loan Guarantee Program. This public-private partnership can serve as inspiration and a model for future hydrogen hubs as it will act as an incubator for innovative, hydrogen-based technologies.

Hydrogen is believed to play a major role in a net-zero world, contributing up to 25% of global consumption. Today, hydrogen represents 2% of global energy consumption. As major commitments are taking shape and a clear vision is emerging for low-carbon hydrogen, major uncertainties remained as to how quickly and how dramatically hydrogen can transform the energy value chains.

About CERAWeek 2023
The global energy industry is facing a welter of uncertainty and change -- driven by the effects of the global pandemic; shifting geopolitics and a war launched by one of the world’s major energy powers; high energy prices; supply chain and infrastructure constraints; and economic instability. The energy industry continues to grapple with the twin challenge of meeting the world’s growing energy demand while reducing emissions. Designing the world’s energy systems for a lower carbon future remains paramount. How will the industry navigate the turbulence and lead the global transition to a sustainable, secure, abundant and affordable future?
CERAWeek 2023 will explore in-depth the strategies for a world in turmoil. Foremost thought leaders, policymakers and executives from across energy, finance, technology, and industry will engage at CERAWeek 2023 for dialogue, shared learning and connection. CERAWeek will offer insight on the energy future -- and on emerging strategies and solutions.
