Mitsubishi Power in Vietnam

Mitsubishi Power plays an important role in Vietnam’s growing energy sector by supplying energy solutions such as gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plants, steam power generation systems, air quality control systems (AQCS) and operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

With a representative office set up in 2016, our team of professionals work closely with local power providers to deliver industry-leading technologies and equipment to meet Vietnam’s power demands. We also explore new solutions that can be introduced to support Vietnam’s transition to cleaner energy by harnessing the potential of renewables and modernizing the nations’ power grid.

Highlights

  • GTCC Gas Turbine Combined Cycle (GTCC)Our expertise in GTCC solutions allows operators to achieve high efficiency with lowered emissions. Utilizing state-of-the-art gas turbines such as the J-series range, our solutions are capable of achieving efficiency levels over 64% and reducing CO2 emissions by half. Our proven track record includes the Phu My-1 combined cycle gas turbine power plant with a capacity of 1,108 MW.
  • Steam Power Generation Systems Steam Power Generation SystemsWe design and deliver high-efficiency steam power generation systems including steam turbines, boilers, equipment and other auxiliaries, to ensure reliable power supply. Combined with our supercritical pressure technology, as demonstrated at the O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant and Nghi Son-2 Thermal Power Plant, we are supporting the country’s energy transition while catering to demand.
  • BESS Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS)Our BESS solutions are crucial to mitigating intermittencies in power supply as Vietnam looks to increase its renewable power generation capacity in areas like wind and solar. We provide customized solutions that can store excess intermittent energy that has been produced, bolstering the resilience and efficiency of the nation’s power grid.
  • Hydrogen and Ammonia Co-Firing Hydrogen and Ammonia Co-FiringOur work in hydrogen and ammonia technology allows operators to utilize cleaner sources of energy for power generation. Our JAC class turbines are capable of 30% hydrogen co-firing, and we are on track to commercialize gas turbines to run on 100% hydrogen firing by 2025. In addition, we have small-scale combustion systems that are capable of 100% ammonia firing.
  • Air Quality Control Systems Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS)We provide world-class AQCS that includes selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) equipment plants and electrostatic precipitators (ESP). Our technologies have proven to be comprehensive for purifying exhaust gas emissions, protecting the environment and ensuring cleaner power generation.
  • Operations and Maintenance Operations & Maintenance (O&M) ServicesO&M services are a key offering in our repertoire to optimize and enhance the longevity of power plants. We currently work with the Power Generation Joint Stock Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO 3) to provide O&M support for its power stations and technical training for engineers to enhance the sustainability, reliability and efficiency of power supply.
