Bringing power to Greece

Print

One of our major projects is taking shape: The construction of the new Ptolemais V power plant in Greece is in full swing, as the Japanese Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Yasuhiro Shimizu, has recently observed during a site visit. MHPS Europe GmbH, parent company MHPS, Ltd., and Terna S.A., a Greek plant constructor, are delivering the ultra-modern lignite power plant (660 MW installed capacity) as a turnkey project. As Terna's sub-contractor, MHPS is responsible for engineering and supply of the Power Train Equipment (the utility steam generator, the steam turbine generator set including balance-of-plant and the flue gas cleaning system).

With the construction on site still ongoing, the boiler pressure test is envisaged for 2nd quarter of 2020, first fire with lignite is planned for beginning of 2021 and commercial operation is scheduled for end of 2021.
