Gypsum Thickener

Overview

Gypsum thickeners are facilities for highly concentrating gypsum generated in flue gas desulfurization units, wastewater from refining, waste sulfuric acid wastewater treatment facilities, etc. They are highly resistant to wear and corrosion, and have excellent operation reliability.

Features

  1. The thickener has a sufficiently high rake strength that it can scrape the gypsum deposited in the bottom into the corn section at the center of the thickener.
  2. As safety measures in case of abnormal operation, torque meters and rake lifters (automatic or manual) are provided to prevent overload of the rake.
  3. Since the gypsum slurry is highly abrasive and corrosive, the wetted parts are made of materials that have sufficient wear resistance and corrosion resistance, and adequate consideration is given to the structure.
  4. Extracted slurry is partially returned to the discharge cone section, and a sub rake is provided to maintain the gypsum in a fluid state to prevent obstruction.
  5. Measures are also taken to facilitate daily inspections and maintenance in the event of an unexpected problem.

Furthermore, based on the extensive experience of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Power Environmental Solutions, Ltd., economical LV is selected based on the specific gravity of gypsum in wastewater, particle size, the amount of impurities contained, and the required quality of treated water.
